Common Reasons to Visit an Animal Hospital

Much like humans, animals should have routine annual health check-ups. Issues may arise between these visits, however, which make you question whether or not to bring your pet into our animal hospital. If you suspect your cat or dog is experiencing any sort of problem, there is absolutely no harm in having him or her examined at our veterinary clinic. Some of the top reasons pet owners make unplanned visits to the vet include eye and ear infections, bladder infections, food allergies, skin growths, arthritis, and unexplained hair loss or diarrhea. Of course, emergency situations can happen as well. Our pet care facility will always be there for the animals of the Fayetteville, NC community and provide exceptional veterinary care in these unfortunate circumstances.

Heartworm Detection/Treatment/Prevention

Heartworm disease can be fatal to your pet. Preventive for heartworms should be given year-round for both your cat and dog. Our animal hospital offers heartworm testing for dogs as part of our routine yearly protocol, but it can be done at any point if your pet has been off of heartworm prevention for any length of time or if you’ve acquired a new dog and are unaware of its history. If your pet is heartworm positive we offer heartworm treatment.

Flea Prevention

We highly suggest that pets stay on flea and/or tick prevention year-round here. It does not get quite cold enough for them to disappear during the winter months and they love the temperature inside your home. We carry topical and oral prescription products for your pets. Remember, the most expensive flea prevention is the one that doesn’t work as the money is wasted.

Microchip

HomeAgain Microchips are available. Microchips help to I.D. a lost or stolen pet when scanned with a microchip scanner. We have reunited many lost pets with their owners because they have been chipped!!
